This red wine is made from old vines (average age 50 years). It has a nose of spices, green pepper, and small black fruits. The texture is soft, and the fruit is ripe with a lovely length on the palate.
Domaine Georges Vernay is one of the oldest and most famous estate in Condrieu. He highly contributed to the reintroduction of viognier on the hillsides of the region. If its white wines are iconic it?s not a reason not to pay attention to its reds.
