The history of the domaine goes back to 1857 and over time the Lochardet family acquired significant vineyards across the Côte de Beaune. When Georges Lochardet passed away he gave 50% of his holdings to his son Armand and in 1983 Armand’s daughter (Brigitte) married Christian Heitz. Domaine Heitz Lochardet was created and for years wines were sold to Maison Drouhin. In 2011, Armand (Brigitte and Christian’s son) took over the domaine and is now producing high quality wines out of his really prestigious holdings. The vineyard is growing constantly thanks to heritage from both sides of the family.The vines are farmed using biodynamic principles and following the moon calendar. Armand and his team are also introducing permaculture in the vineyard.The whites are vinified traditionally with minimal use of oak and batonnage. The reds are vinified in whole clusters. Pumping over rather than punching down for a soft extraction The wines are aged in oak barrels for 10 to 15 months with around 20% new oak. The wines are not fined or filtered."The wines are lean, precise and of great freshness. The terroir expression in each of them is crystal clear"
