Domaine Hughes-Beguet
Patrice BEGUET
Caroline and Patrice Hughes-Beguet left the big city life in 2009 to settle in the small village of Mesnay and embrace the Jura winemaker's life. The first few years were a lot of lessons learned and struggle but they are now proud to run a biodynamic domaine which is working closely with nature. They grow wild flowers, leguminous plants and cereals between vineyard rows and are focused on the diversity in the vineyards with a lot of native fruits surrounding the vines.
Grass is maintained in the vineyard and a lot of care is placed in working the soils. Vines are sprayed with the lowest possible amount of copper and herbal sprays are used instead.
The grapes are fermented with indigenous yeasts and no sulfur is added in the wines at any time. The wines are never fined or filtered.
"The wines are all very unique and aromatically wild, nicely textured and generous"
