Domaine Godier
Vincent GODIER Domaine Godier is a new estate. In 2009, Vincent Godier bought a small vineyard in Burgundy from domaine Chopin. He owns a bit more than 1 hectare in Nuits Saint Georges and 0.5 hectares in Chambolle-Musigny. Vincent was not a vine grower nor a winemaker, after years of working around the world, he bought the vineyards for passion. Thus, the Chopin brothers are still taking care of his vines. The vines are farmed with a simple approach. They avoid chemicals and manage grass in the vineyard to control moisture and support liveliness of their soils. Besides, the domaine is about to start an organic conversion. Since 2016, Vincent is producing a micro cuvee of Nuits Saint Georges blanc. For the reds, the wines are vinified with a large proportion of whole cluster (60 to 90%) and aged in barrels with an average of 15 to 20% new oak. Pumping and racking are used as less as possible and the wines are usually not filtered.
"The wines combine fruits, spices and tannins. They’re age worthy"
