LQV announces its acquisition of Stan Café and K-Element

LQV Group, the operator of very successful wine bars, restaurant and retail stores specialised in French cheese, meats and other delicacies, is pleased to announce its acquisition of Stan Café and K-Element. The transaction is completed on June 18th 2020.

The philosophy of work and passion for French terroir products of Sophie and Manu Vallier – former owners of Stan Café and K-Element – are in total adequacy with the values which animate LQV Group since the first day. The complementary nature of Stan Café and K-Element with LQV Group activities represents a strong opportunity for synergies and product diversification, which will result in an increase of our offer of quality French food and beverages as well as an extension of our coverage of Hong Kong and Macau.

What will change?

Stan Café will still operate in Stanley Plaza and run its business as usual, although the range of fine French wines available will be extended to reach 400+ references – initially. The famous Stanley organic market taking place every weekend in Stan Café for the last several years will remain unchanged and will be soon duplicated to the LQV shop in Mid-Levels.

LQV shops in Wan Chai, Central and Mid-Levels will also extend their range of products with more cheese varieties in La Crémerie, more fine groceries available in retail or to be enjoyed in our wine bars and restaurants’ tables and a wider range of high-end cold cuts for both retail and dine-in. Last but not least, thanks to Stan Café’s offering, LQV shops will now offer - for both dine-in and retail – their in-house baked breads and patisseries.

At the distribution level, LQV was already working with hotels and restaurants for the distribution of fine French wines. Taking over K-Element will extend the clients portfolio - although it will still remain focused on premium tables across the city – and it will complement the wine distribution with fine French food onboarding brands such as Le Noir de Bigorre, Beillevaire, Maison Samaran and many more. It’s also a tremendous opportunity for LQV to open doors in Macau as K-Element is historically well established on this market.

LQV Group products

An unmatched offer of French premium Food & Beverage products

The combination of the 3 companies operating together will create an unparalleled offering of French premium Food & Beverage products across the city on every level of the business – from distribution to dine-in and through retail. This acquisition will also be an opportunity for LQV to harmonize its offer. Thus, the new ecosystem will gather wine bars under LQV La Cave, retail shops through LQV La Crémerie and LQV La Boucherie and restaurants with LQV La Boucherie and Stan Café. Finally, it will also include two distribution activities with LQV operating as a wine distributor and K-Element as a food distributor.

About LQV

LQV Le Quinze Vins was created in Paris in 2010 by a group of wine & food lovers. The ambition was to offer a cosy and friendly ambiance in which Parisians could enjoy a wine list of Michelin star restaurants quality. Success quickly happened and four years later, LQV expanded in Hong Kong with a first shop in Wan Chai. A few months later a second wine bar opened in Central and finally in 2019 LQV introduced its first concept of a place reuniting a wine bar and a retail shop in the Mid-Levels.

On another hand and after the success encountered by Le Quinze Vins in Hong Kong, La Crémerie opened its doors in July 2017 with the same philosophy: import directly from France the best products possible at the best prices with no intermediary and offer them in a friendly and simple environment. A few months later opened LQV Le Boucher Français. Again, the idea was to stick to this philosophy and add fresh meat and cold cuts to the portfolio. With an in-house Butcher, Le Boucher Français provides high quality and dry aged French meat. The few extra seats and tables available also allowed LQV Group to open its very first restaurant.

If you are traveling to Singapore and you are craving French food and wine, no worries, there is a Le Quinze Vins wine bar too. Next to the restaurant “No Menu”, LQV offers a small selection of dishes from this Singaporean institution, to be enjoyed with a wine list of over 1000+ French wine labels.
