The 2016 Roc de Cambes is powerful, tightly wound and closed in on itself. Iron, smoke, tobacco, cedar, menthol and licorice all add aromatic nuance to a core of dark fruit. Very dense palate, finely grains with sweet raspberry, ginger, clove, seamless tannins, intense flavours with a sexy texture and a very long, suave and delicate finish.
Roc de Cambes has a terroir that is not much different from Tertre Roteboeuf, their legendary, St. Emilion estate, which is also owned by the Mitjavile family. The vineyard is situated not far from the Bordeaux city center and it is also less than 30 kilometers due south of St. Emilion.
