Vines around 70 years of age are used for this cuvee. Maturation takes place in 25% new oak barrels for 12 months. Ripe berry, spice and oak on the nose. Dense and structured palate with a lot of fruit: red currant and raspberry. Woody notes are very present but not overpowering.
Jean-Louis Dutraive is at the head of domaine de la Grand Cour since 1989. He is one of the leader in Beaujolais organic and natural wine scene and probably one of the region most important characters. Always here to give a hand to fellow winemakers, a word to young people settling down or a warm welcome to visitors. His wines are like him: generous and highly explosive.
