A complex nose of red currant, spices and gamey notes. The palate is rich, round and rather full bodied with a really charming mouth feel. The long finish is firmly structured and very well balanced.
This small domaine is working on some of the best terroirs of the Cote de Beaune with some very high quality rootstock. Their plot of Pommard Premier Cru la Platiere has for example been planted in 1936 and they also own the smallest monopole Premier Cru in Pommard with their Clos Derriere Saint Jean. Thierry is a passionate man and is engaged in sustainable winemaking. The vineyard is under organic management since 1999 and the vinification is truly traditional and respectful of the terroir.
