This wine is vinified with 80% whole cluster and comes from high altitude vineyard. The nose is deep with raspberry and musky rose petal aromas. The palate offers minty freshness with rich dark cherry flavours. The little sweetness on the finish is charming and brings extra length.
In 1960?s Antonin Faravel started to form his vineyard by planting vines on the stone cliffs of the Dentelles de Montmirail. He knew that the cooler temperatures and rocky soils would produce perfectly ripe grapes, with better acidic balance and lower alcohol, too. While other winemakers quickly followed Antonin?s lead, Domaine la Bou?ssiere without question is the original, high-altitude Gigondas. Nowadays the domaine is run by his children (Thierry and Giles) who are still farming one of the highest vineyards in the appellation.
