This wine displays a nose of dark berries with menthol and black olives notes. The palate. The palate offers black berries juicy flavours alongside firm, dry tannins. The finish is raised up by hints of veggie freshness.
In 1960?s Antonin Faravel started to form his vineyard by planting vines on the stone cliffs of the Dentelles de Montmirail. He knew that the cooler temperatures and rocky soils would produce perfectly ripe grapes, with better acidic balance and lower alcohol, too. While other winemakers quickly followed Antonin?s lead, Domaine la Bou?ssiere without question is the original, high-altitude Gigondas. Nowadays the domaine is run by his children (Thierry and Giles) who are still farming one of the highest vineyards in the appellation.
